Club sailing

It was again windy on Saturday for the scheduled three races for the June Cup in the summer series of club run by Lucas and Ted.

With the upwind start a triangular course was set for the first race, the North Beach was marked off by the windward, St. Catherine’s east of by the give and start line off Monkstone.

The westerly presented the six boats with substantial challenges and at some stage nearly everyone was capsized.

Daniel and Dan in the RS400 got early swim, before the start. Griff/Jaime in their Osprey capsized more than once, both downwind and upwind. Igor/ Peter/ in the Scorpion surrendered on the gibe. Deanna/Mike went hunting with their spinnaker beneath the boat, but they managed to keep the boat right way up. Martin and Richard at Lasers club joined in the confusion in spite of wearing round at the gibe mark.

During the race, everyone had great fun and gave some spectacular moments to the spectators.
